Novel topics

I was going to start with an apology for not writing in over a month and then I realised – who am I apologising to? Probably no one! Anyway…

I’m writing now because it’s nearly time for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and I want to join in again. I’ve been thinking about writing a novel based on my experiences growing up as an undiagnosed Aspie but I don’t want it to be just about that. I’m also worried about making it too autobiographical (and therefore boring).

In the past my novels have involved violence and crime and I’m trying to avoid these this year. I’m not sure I’ll be able to. My alternative options don’t seem very interesting.

So – to summarise – I want to write about something. My main character might have Asperger’s.
